Community Guidelines

Last updated: 14 October 2026

Beyond Borders connects newcomers, mentors, and local communities. Treat people with respect and use the platform for constructive mentoring, questions, events, and conversation.

Be respectful and safe

  • Communicate respectfully, even when you disagree.
  • Respect personal boundaries and stop contacting someone when asked.
  • Protect your own and other people’s private information.
  • Meet in safe settings and use your judgment when arranging sessions outside the platform.

Content and behaviour we do not allow

  • Harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation, stalking, or targeted abuse.
  • Hate speech or attacks based on identity or protected characteristics.
  • Sexual exploitation, non-consensual sexual content, or unwanted sexual contact.
  • Violence, encouragement of self-harm, or credible threats of physical harm.
  • Fraud, impersonation, scams, phishing, spam, or deceptive promotion.
  • Sharing another person’s private information without permission.
  • Illegal activity or instructions intended to facilitate serious wrongdoing.
  • Repeated misinformation presented in a way that may cause significant harm.
  • Attempts to evade restrictions, manipulate reports, or interfere with the service.

Mentoring boundaries

Mentors should describe their experience accurately and should not claim professional qualifications they do not hold. Guidance from mentors and AI features does not replace qualified medical, legal, financial, tax, immigration, or other regulated professional advice.

Reporting a concern

Use the report option on a profile, question, reply, or message when available. Include enough context for the concern to be understood, but avoid adding unrelated personal information. You can also contact beyondborders.dk@outlook.com if you cannot use the in-app report flow.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency service. Beyond Borders is not an emergency service.

How we respond

We assess reports using the available context, the severity of the behaviour, and any relevant history. Actions may include removing content, issuing a warning, limiting features, temporarily suspending an account, or permanently terminating an account. Serious or urgent cases may be escalated where required to protect people or comply with law.

We may close reports when the available information does not establish a violation. Reporting tools must not be used to harass others or submit knowingly false reports.

Appeals

If your content or account is restricted and you believe the decision was incorrect, email beyondborders.dk@outlook.com. Include the email associated with your account, the affected content or action, and why you believe the decision should be reviewed. A person who was not responsible for the original decision should review the appeal where practical.

Changes to these guidelines

These guidelines may change as Beyond Borders develops. Material changes will be communicated through the website, the application, or another appropriate channel.
